If you are a school or organisation (Canterbury/Grey) that requires pick up of any food goods collected (until 19 September - Week 9) in relation to 2014 Lunch Box Day, and dropped off at a collection point, just flick me an email. I only have a small van. Let me know where you are, and where the collection point is where the goods are to be dropped off.
Information/Level Preferences/Contact Details/Registration Number etc:
See the '2014 Calendar' re my availability, my current location, & where I will be heading to next.
My Facebook page is www.facebook.com/therelievingteacher (updates are posted via FB)
My name is Chris and I am currently working as a relieving teacher.
I have been working as a reliever for a number of years now. This has included work in both the North and South Islands, and even on Great Barrier Island.
I don't have any special skills or abilities and am just a regular primary school teacher (I don't specialise in anything in particular).
Please note that with some schools now moving towards the MLE/Open Plan environments, I only really have experience in the single cell environments. I also don't really have any experience with ipad and app type technology.
If you are a school and are requiring a reliever for a short term/period of time, on a day to day basis, and/or you are having difficulty getting a reliever, I may be able to help out. If this is the case, please feel free to contact me. I do go far and wide at times. For example, I can be in the Far North one week, and in the South Island the next week (it just depends on where the need is). Even if you are a sole charge school out in the sticks, (most of my work has been in small rural/isolated schools), that doesn't worry me (it's actually my preference), so don't feel as if isolation stops you making an enquiry (I don't mind going out to schools in the sticks out on gravel roads).
See below for some of the schools I have worked in (bottom of this page).
To make a booking or to just make a general enquiry, please feel to send me (Chris) an email (email@example.com). This email address comes to me personally.
I endeavour to reply to all emails as soon as I am able to do so (usually the same day received).
However, please also note that many places I go to are not in cellphone/internet coverage areas, so although I do try to get back to you asap, please be aware it may not be immediate in some cases if I am in an area with no cellular/internet coverage. Email and/or Text is best if you are unable to get me by phone (there is no answerphone on my phone).
I look forward to hearing from you.
Personal details and contact Information

A copy of my registration is attached in the PDF document at the bottom of this page (it is within the same document which has the written references about me).
At the bottom of this page is a PDF document which has a few written references about me. These are simply put there to give you someone elses view about me. Please note these are for viewing only-please do not contact them without asking me first unless you know them.
Education Sector: Primary (Year 0-8).
Experience: About 15 years at various levels.
Most of my career has been in small multilevel schools (sole charge - 3 teacher schools), although I have done some short stints in bigger city schools at various times.
Where did I train? University of Waikato (Hamilton).
I am a New Zealand born citizen (born at Whakatane).
Main Phone/Text: 027-2701301 (Vodafone network).
My emails are checked on a daily basis/each evening (when connections are available) up until about 9pm. Email is often the best bet in getting me initially rather than by phone.
My Preferred Levels (for full days in the one class):
Sole Charge and 2 Teacher Schools: Any/all levels (Year 0 - Year 8).
Schools larger than 2 teachers: Year 3-6 areas. However if you are a 3 teacher school and your senior class is a Years 4/5-8 class, I am happy to do that.
I can do the lower levels but have less experience in those areas in the bigger schools.
If in doubt about levels, please feel free to ask away.
The Class Plan:
I am happy to do my own thing during the day/time with you. So, if you are happy for me to do my own thing, there is no need for the teacher/school to have to rush around and spend time having to get something organised for me. The only thing I require is the use of the photocopier. Everything else I can provide and organise.
This will vary depending on where you are and where I am staying in your area. This is always negotiable and I often just ask for a small travel/mileage donation (especially for the schools way out in the sticks). Just ask me if unsure.
Information that would be helpful if you were looking at using me (for a normal relieving day in the one class for the whole day):
If you would like to look at using me as a reliever (there is no obligation until you want to actually book me), the following would be useful if emailing me:
-Your name and school?
-What area you are located in?
-What level/s are the class (and how many children at each level if the class is multilevel)?
-How many children are in the class altogether?
-What date/s were you looking at wanting me?
-Are you happy for me to do my own thing?
